Tiger Prawns (freshwater)

Tiger prawns are large and flavoursome and have a mild seafood flavour that readily absorb many different spices. Their majestic striping (often appeared in blue or green) makes for impressive presentation and they are often the choice of top hotels and restaurants. In Mercado Fresco, frozen tiger prawns are available in a pack within the range of 8 to 50 pieces depending on size and we can have the shell peeled too!

 

Sea White Prawn

Sea white prawn shell is thin and the tail is very meaty, so you do get a good amount of prawn meat. Their colour ranges from a transparent yellowish white to a reddish hue and can grow to quite a large size. The flesh of this prawn is firm and sweet. It is therefore great for dishes where you pan fry the prawn with the shell on and then coat it with sauce. They also do well in a prawn curry as the meat is firm. Similar to our tiger prawn, it available in the size range of 8 to 50 pieces a pack.
